ALL CHMHA Activities Suspended
Submitted By Crystal Julia on Friday, March 13, 2020
Hello Centre Hastings Grizzlies Families,

As you have probably heard, Hockey Canada and all provincial governing bodies have ended sanctioned events for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season due to concerns about COVID-19.

You can read Hockey Canada’s Statement here: https://www.hockeycanada.ca/en-ca/news/2020-news-hockey-canada-ends-season

Due to Hockey Canada’s decision as well as rapidly changing events in Ontario, we have also postponed our year end Banquet until further notice. Our AGM scheduled for April 7 will also be moved to a later date as a precaution.

We know this is a disheartening way to finish the year, and we are as sad and frustrated as everyone else that we will not be able to finish off our last ice times. We are also very disappointed we won’t be able to show up in in full force to support our Juvenile team who had made it on to the OMHA finals. Watching our community pack the rink to support the juvenile team, many of whom have been with our system since 3 and 4 years old, reaffirms why this is a great place to live and the importance of small town hockey.

We had some amazing moments this year, and we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the season. We are still hopeful we will be able to celebrate together at our year end banquet in the spring.

Until then, stay safe and healthy, and enjoy some time with your families.

Yours in hockey,

Theresa Bailey

President, Centre Hastings Minor Hockey Association
